BridgeClimb: 134 metres of 'why did I book this' turning into 'best thing ever'

You're in a grey climb suit, clipped onto a steel cable, and someone has just politely taken your phone away. This is the moment most people ask themselves what they've done. Twenty minutes later, they're 134 metres above the harbour, grinning like idiots.

Which climb?

The Summit Climb is the classic, up the arch to the very top. The Summit Insider is shorter with no ladders. The Burrawa Climb weaves in First Nations perspectives on the harbour. Allow somewhere between two and three and a half hours, depending on the one you choose.

Phones stay behind

Yes, really. It's for safety, and honestly it's a gift: you just look. You still get a group photo and a cap, so the proof is covered.

Our tip

Book the twilight climb. You get daylight, sunset and the city lights switching on, all in one go. It's also the most popular, so book early, especially in summer.

And from the top, look north. That little village between the Bridge and the water? That's home for the week.
